Why are your APS scan prices so cheap?

Our APS scan prices are per scan (photo) not per cartridge. This price structure allows us to accommodate 15, 25 and 40 exposure APS films on a simple order form. We do offer significant bulk discounts for large orders.

Do you keep copies of orders?

We keep a backup of all orders unless you request otherwise. This policy enables us to provide you with extra copies at the standard rate in the future should your original disc/s be lost or damaged. Please note that we cannot guarantee to have copies.

What is the Order Fulfilment charge?

The cost of discs, packaging and return delivery varies greatly from order to order depending on file sizes, formats, quantities, the physical size and weight of the originals and numerous other factors that cannot easily be priced in advance.

To cover these costs we add an order fulfilment charge to every order which keeps our price structure and order form clear and concise.
This means there are no hidden costs. The price you see when you place your order is the price you pay.

Do you brand/watermark the digital images?

We do not brand/watermark digital images from Orders.
We do brand/watermark digital images from Free Trials.

What's the difference between dpi and ppi?

DPI stands for dots per inch, this is a measurement of output resolution or print resolution. DPI refers to the number of ink dots printed on each inch of paper when printing a digital image.

PPI stands for pixels per inch, this is a measurement of input resolution or scan resolution. PPI refers to the number of pixels (discrete image elements) captured from each inch of source material when digitising films and prints.

The important thing to remember is that higher PPI equals more detailed digital images because more information is captured from the original.

What steps are taken to avoid damaging my originals?

We understand that your originals are extremely important to you, after all, this is probably why you're here. We only handle originals when absolutely necessary and at all times whilst wearing cotton gloves. When originals aren't being scanned they are stored in plastic containers labelled with your order number, name and address. We process orders on a first come first served basis and your order is never processed alongside another.

In what order do you scan my originals?

If originals are clearly dated, numbered and organised we will scan them chronologically and sequentially and try to mirror your organisation. To speed up your order processing please sort your originals before sending them to us. If necessary group your originals into sets using envelopes, elastic bands etc.
If there is no apparent order we will scan originals in the order we receive them.

How are my images named?

Filenames are prefixed with your order number, then any pertinent information and then numbered sequentially. If beneficial, each set of scans is placed in a separate folder. The aim of this system is to record any useful information into the file structure and to allow you to match any digital image with an original.

If you would like to specify your own naming convention please explain this in the special instructions when you place your order.
